Supporting an Effective and Efficient System for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions in BiH
(April 2009-April 2009) Lucid Linx started implementation of this two-year project in April 2009 with the aim of designing and implementing measures for establishing a more effective and efficient system for execution of criminal sanctions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The main issues addressed by the project comprise issues revolving around prison management, measures to prevent prison overcrowding, and means for establishing of better analytical and policy-making capacities in the field of execution of criminal
sanctions. All of these issues were determined by the respective ministries of justice as key priorities of the Sector for Execution Criminal Sanctions within the medium-term Justice Sector Reform Strategy for the period 2009 - 2013. With our main partners – the Ministries of Justice of BiH, FBIH and RS, as well as judicial and correctional institutions, we are working on establishing overall policy linkages to ensure development of a joined-up criminal justice system in this country. The project is funded by the British Embassy in Bosnia-Hercegovina.
The expected outcomes of the project would include the development of policy options and action plans for the implementation of high priority issues in the prison sector. The project encompasses four key areas of prison reform: Lucid Linx experts are working on four components of the project: 1. better prison management 2. developing policy options for building of a more efficient application of conditional release and alternative sanctions 3. analysis of conditions and requirements for establishment of a probation service in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 4. developing capacities of relevant institutions for data analysis and policy development in the field of execution of criminal sanctions. The project commenced in April 2009 and is expected to be completed in April 2011. back to previous |
